He was the beloved father of Camelia, Eunice and Diana. He was a devoted grandfather to Gabriela (“KiKi), Isabela and Elsa (“The Ninjas”), Isaias and Daniela.

Jose fought a heroic battle against renal failure for 17 years. In the midst of countless hospitalizations and procedures, he maintained a constant smile on his face and was the life of every conversation with anyone he encountered. His love of food, family, the Mets and life was infectious. He is survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, son in law Edison, countless family and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at San Camilo Funeral Home, 253 Mount Prospect Avenue, Newark, N.J. 07104. He will be privately cremated.

The Saviñon family expresses our deep felt gratitude for all the love, support and prayers extended over the years. We know he lives on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
